I feel it is always important you get things right before you make brash statements about what is going on in other countries around the world. Sorry to have to say this but you are wrong again about the British riots!!.
The riots began because the police shot dead a man they claim shot at them, but in fact it was a police bullet that hit another policeman.?
Then the criminals high jacked the peaceful demonstration made by the family of the dead man and began to riot in order to ransack shops for TV,trainers Clothes, jewellery.!!!
THEY DID NOT VENT ANY ANGER AT BANKS or GOVERNMENT BUILDING except 1 bank when they tried to get the cash machine out off it.
Others then began to join in, thanks to the wonder of internet phones, and they too began to take advantage of all the looting.
So although you seem to want to make the square peg fit in a round whole, on this matter it just don’t fit.
But hey don’t let the truth get in the way of a good tale!!

Gerald is correct… dont forget that the average ‘holigan’ or chav or welfare child/teenager etc has no HOPE in uk – everything is beyond affordable even in a job (Uk house prices anyone? austerity anyone? debt fueled univeristy degrees anyone?). There is no social mobility in the UK and its getting worse. So those riots should be analysed in DEPTH… ask the question why most of those looters joined in. What hope do they have of ‘having’ those things that we rub their noses into ‘advertising’ when they can never afford it on the dole (welfare) and we have increasingly cut off all the options they have to get out of that sorry state.

Sorry Grace, although I agree some of what you say I am affraid I do not agree on the riots.
The rioters did not give hoot about the economic climate or Jobs or any other crisis going on in the world today, in fact I bet if you gave them a job with decent pay they would have jacked it in within a week, WHY.? Because who needs to work 40hrs for £250/£500pw, when they can rob what they need in minutes.
Now if the police and newspapers are to be believed there was a lot of organised criminal activity that night and we all know they have plenty of money and can easily afford the things they stole, so they stole them in order to sell them on.
Infact a lot of them already have BIG TVs, IPHONES, BMW and loads of CASH from ill gotten gains and drug deals, that’s why all the youths want to join the gangs to EMULATE them.
The rest just got carried away with the mood on the streets and did their christmas shopping early.!!
As for G C claiming it to be global insurrection, utter nonsense, but hey as i said before don’t let a little thing like the truth get in the way of a good story!!
